Sincerely yours

Several weeks ago someone from my recent past asked me for a second chance. It took me years to repair my heart after my first experience with him. But he’d been through the fire since then, told me he was a different man, and wanted to try again. He seemed so genuine and pried open my heart.

He did me very wrong right after that, however, and it made me feel like a fool for opening my heart to him again.

A dear friend of mine told me: “You dealt with him sincerely, and you have nothing to be ashamed of. ”
And she was right, I realized. The fault wasn’t mine at all.

  1. Hi Laurie.

Many people deserve second chances. It is a kind thing to give people that chance. Thirds however . . . not so much. It was kind of you to extend yourself. He is the one that should be ashamed.
